RENOVA SPINE – KYPHOPLASTY 8G

Classic approach

Renova Spine is a minimally invasive system for kyphoplasty procedure to treat fractures, restore vertebral body height and reduce back pain.

A vertebral compression fracture (VCF) occurs when the vertebral body fractures and collapses due to osteoporotic conditions, tumors (eg. myeloma) or trauma.

The principle of kyphoplasty is to restore vertebral body anatomy gently and progressively by inflating balloons and then reinforcing the anterior column of the vertebra with cement. The balloons create a cavity within the vertebral body, compressing the cancellous bone and thus limiting the risk of cement leakage from the vertebral body.

The balloon catheter is then deflated and the cavity created is now filled with bone cement avoiding any leakage.

Renova Spine 8G system allows to perform a Kyphoplasty procedure with a classic approach.

RENOVA SPINE 8G BENEFITS:

  • Minimally invasive surgery: patient recovers faster

  • Percutaneous: less invasive and less traumatic treatment

  • Reduced profile of cannula and balloon catheter

  • Cavity creation: minimized risk of cement leakage

  • Vertebral body height restoration

  • No metallic impants left in situ

  • Reduction in morbidity and fast functional recovery

  • From lower thoracic to lumbar vertebrae

COMPONENTS

– BONE ACCESS NEEDLE

used used for initial bone access to the vertebra in the kyphoplasty procedure with classic approach. Composed by an external cannula, an internal stylet with ‘Trocar’ tip and a plastic ergonomic handle.

Features:

ERGONOMIC AND HAMMERABLE HANDLE WITH NO GLUED PARTS

SMALL CANNULA HANDLE FOR A BETTER VIEW DURING SURGERY

WIDE OPENING ANGLE OF THE STYLET FOR A BETTER GRIP DURING SURGERY

BONE ACCESS NEEDLE TIP

– KIRSCHNER GUIDE WIRE

metal wire with trocar or flat tip to be inserted into the cannula of the Bone access needle in order to create a guide for the following introduction of the working cannula in the Kyphoplasty classic procedure.

FLAT TIP

TROCAR TIP

– WORKING CANNULA AND EXPANDER

This device allows to create the working channel through which it’s possible to complete the kyphoplasty steps. After the access in the vertebral body the inner cannula is removed and only the external cannula remains in the patient and acts as an introduction/working channel for the subsequent tools used in the kyphoplasty procedure.

Features:

ERGONOMIC AND HAMMERABLE HANDLE WITH NO GLUED PARTS

SMALL CANNULA HANDLE FOR A BETTER VIEW DURING SURGERY

WIDE OPENING ANGLE OF THE STYLET FOR A BETTER GRIP DURING SURGERY

CANNULA TIP

– DRILL

composed by a metal part with distal bone drill (screwed terminal portion) and a plastic handle.

 Features:

  • DIFFERENT SHAPE than the working cannula: easier to recognize during surgery

  • SMALL HANDLE for a better visibility during surgery

  • COMPLETELY OVERMOLDED: no glued parts

  • DEPTH MARKERS on the cannula

DRILL TIP

– BONE FILLER

cement infusion cannula consisting of a steel cannula with a plastic handle, equipped with a pusher stylet that allows the gradual introduction of the cement into the vertebral body of the patient. The plastic handle has a universal luer lock connection for the filling of the cannula with bone cement.

BONE FILLER TIP

– BALLOON CATHETER

single-use catheter with inflation up to 400 PSI. The balloon has two radiopaque markers for a better visibility during surgery.

– 2,5 ml SYRINGE for cement injection

– DIGITAL INFLATION DEVICE

– ANALOG INFLATION DEVICE
